Message: "You have exceeded the number of allowable attempts to verify the security code."

When trying to sign in to your Norton account with two-factor authentication (2FA), you may see the message "You have exceeded the number of allowable attempts to verify the security code. Please try again after 24 hours.". This issue can occur if an incorrect 2FA code is entered multiple times.

Ensure you are using the code from the correct account name in your mobile authenticator app, or that you are requesting the code for your registered mobile phone number.

To fix this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Wait for 24 hours, then sign in to your account.
  2. If the issue persists, try clearing the browser cache and cookies, then try to sign in again.
  3. Complete any security checks, such as image verification, while signing in.

If the steps above do not work, contact Norton Support
