Fix problem closing the Norton Utilities end of support notification

To fix this problem, end the smart alert process and enable the active scripting.

End the smart alert process

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    taskmgr

  3. On the Processes tab, select smart alert.exe, and then click End task.

  4. Click End task to confirm.

Enable the active scripting

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    inetcpl.cpl

  3. In the Internet Properties window, on the Security tab, click Custom level.

  4. Under Active scripting, click Enable.

  5. Click OK, and then click Yes.

  6. In the Internet Properties window, click OK.
