Identify the Norton service in your device

You can identify the Norton service installed in your device by looking at the list of programs.

If you have revoked license from a device, the device is removed from your Norton account and the service status is shown as trial. For more information on transferring a license, read Transfer your Norton protection from one device to another device.

Identify the Norton service in Windows

  1. On the Windows taskbar, do one of the following:

    • In Windows 7, click Start > All Programs.

    • In Window 8 or later, navigate to the Start screen.

    In the list of the programs that appears, you can find the Norton service that is installed in your computer. For example, if you have installed Norton Security, you can find Norton Security in the list of programs.

  2. To find the device name or the version number of the Norton Security service, open the Norton product, click Help, and under General Information, click About.

  3. To find the version number of the Norton Secure VPN service, right-click Secure VPN icon on your taskbar, click Settings icon and then click About.

Identify the Norton service in Mac

In the Mac menu bar, right-click the Norton icon.

You can find the Norton service that is installed in your computer from the first option in the shortcut menu that appears. For example, if you have installed Norton Security, you can find Open Norton Security as the first option in the menu.
