Downloading and activating Norton Cleaner

Install and activate Norton Cleaner

1. On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and search for Norton Cleaner.

2. On the Norton Cleaner app screen, tap Install.

3. When the installation finishes, tap Open.

4. Read and accept the License and Services Agreement and acknowledge our Global Privacy Statement.

5. Continue with one of the following options:

   • To purchase an in-app plan, tap Get started. Choose your plan, tap Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe to and activate the selected plan.

   • To activate your subscription using your Norton account, tap Sign in, type your Norton account email address and password that has an active Norton Utilities Ultimate subscription, and tap Sign In.

   • To redeem an active subscription, tap Redeem a subscription > Enter a product key. Enter the product key or code and tap Next.

   The Norton Cleaner app is downloaded and activated. Continue with the steps below to access all Norton Cleaner features.

Provide permissions

To access all features of the Norton Cleaner app, you need to grant permission settings on your device. Follow the instructions below to enable the required permissions.

1. To use all the features of the Norton Cleaner app, you must provide a few permission settings on your device. Tap Go to dashboard > Start here > Give us access.

2. Allow the following permissions:

   • All files access: Tap Go to settings, next to Allow access to manage all files, tap the slider so that it turns green (On).

   • Usage access: Tap Go to settings, tap Norton Cleaner, and next to Permit usage access, tap the slider so that it turns green (On). In the warning alert, read the information, and tap Ok.

   • Notifications: Tap Allow Permission, and in the confirmation alert, tap Allow.

   The above permissions are enabled, and you are navigated back to the Norton Cleaner app.

3. On the Norton Cleaner app, tap Scan for junk, and wait for the scan to complete.

4. Tap See Results to view the result summary.

5. To remove the hidden cache, next to Hidden Cache, tap the red icon and allow the following permissions:

   • Display pop-ups: Tap Other permissions and select Always allow.

   • Modify system settings: Tap Go to settings, next to Allow modifying system settings, tap the slider so that it turns green (On).

   • Accessibility: Tap Go to settings > Agree > Downloaded apps > Norton Cleaner. Next to Use Norton Cleaner, tap the slider so that it turns green (On). In the warning alert, read the information, and tap Ok.

Install and activate Norton Cleaner

1. On your iOS device, open the Apple App Store and search for Norton Cleaner.

2. On the Norton Cleaner app screen, tap GET or the download icon.

3. When the installation finishes, tap Open.

4. Read and accept the License and Services Agreement and acknowledge our Global Privacy Statement.

5. Continue with one of the following options:

   • To purchase an in-app plan, tap Get started. Choose your plan, tap Let’s Go, and follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe and activate the selected plan.

   • To redeem an active subscription, tap Redeem a subscription, and based on your purchase, continue with one of the following options:

     • Tap Sign in with Norton account and type your Norton account email address and password that has an active Norton Utilities Ultimate subscription, then tap Sign In.

     • If you have an existing active Norton Utilities Ultimate subscription purchased from the Apple App Store, then tap Restore from App Store.

     The Norton Cleaner app is downloaded and activated. Continue with the steps below to access all Norton Cleaner features.

Provide permissions

To access all features of the Norton Cleaner app, you need to grant permission settings on your device. Follow the instructions below to enable the required permissions.

1. Open Norton Cleaner, and at the bottom of the main screen, tap Settings

2. Scroll down to the More section, tap Settings, and tap Access permissions.

3. Tap Contacts or Photo Library, or Activity Tracking, or Notifications, and tap Go to Settings.

4. On the Norton Cleaner settings screen, do the following:

   • Tap Contacts > Full Access > Allow Full Access. Navigate back to the settings screen.

   • Tap Photos > Full Access > Allow Full Access. Navigate back to the settings screen.

   • Tap Notifications, next to Allow Notifications, tap the slider so that it turns green (On).

   • Next to Allow tracking, tap the slider > Allow so that it turns green (On). Navigate back to the Norton Cleaner app.

All the required permissions are enabled.
