Restore your BullGuard backup data

Follow the instructions in this article to help restore your files and data that you previously backed up using your BullGuard protection.

Disclaimer: The tool is intended only to restore your BullGuard backup data. We recommend that you uninstall the tool after you complete the restore activity.

Restore your BullGuard backup data

  1. Click the below link to download the BullGuard Backup Restore Tool:

  2. Once the download completes, press Ctrl + J keys, to open the Downloads window in your browser, and double-click the file that you downloaded.

  3. In the prompt that appears, click Yes.

  4. If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes or Continue.

  5. In the setup wizard, accept the License Agreement and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  6. In the BullGuard Backup Restore Tool window, do the following:

    • Backup Type: Select the location where the files are previously backed up.

      - If you select Local, you need to browse to the location of the backup.

      - If you select Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, you will need sign in to your respective online backup account and then browse to the location.

    • Found Backups: Select the backup set that you want to restore.

    • Passphrase: If your backup set is protected with a password, enter the password.

    • Restore To: If you want the files to be restored to a different location, click the default location and browse to choose a different location.

  7. Click Go.

  8. Wait for the restore to complete.

    The time taken for restoration to complete varies depending on the size of the backup set.

  9. In the Restore Complete prompt, click OK.

After you have finished restoring your backup data, you can uninstall the tool.

Uninstall the BullGuard Backup Restore Tool

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in the following text, and then press Enter:

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click BullGuard Backup Restore Tool, and then click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.

  5. In the BullGuard Backup Restore Tool Uninstall window, and click Yes > OK.

As a best practice, we recommend that you restore your BullGuard backup data before you migrate from BullGuard protection to Norton GO. After migrating to Norton GO, you can utilize the Cloud Backup entitlement in your Norton GO subscription to back up your files and data to Norton's Secure Online Storage location.
