Message: "...You haven't finished Setup and your computer is not protected..." on Mac

When you install the latest version of Norton on macOS High Sierra (10.13.x) or later, you need to configure the Security & Privacy settings to allow Norton Kernel Extensions (KEXTs) during the setup. If you did not complete these steps, you see this error message and a prompt to complete the configuration to finish the setup.

To fix this problem, do the following:

Finish the Norton setup

  1. Start Norton.

  2. In the Norton main window, under the "You are at risk" prompt, click Open Now.

  3. In the Security & Privacy settings window, next to the message about Norton software being blocked, click Allow.

    If the Allow option is grayed out, click the lock icon in the left-bottom corner of the window, and type your administrator password to authenticate.

  4. Click OK to update the preferences.

  5. Switch to the Norton window, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

  6. When you see a prompt to restart, click Restart.
