Create or modify firewall rules for a connection with advanced options on Mac

You can configure the firewall connection rules for a service or an IP address. Based on the connection rules you configure, the Firewall allows or blocks the incoming and outgoing network connections.

Create or modify firewall rules for a connection

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. On the left pane, click Security.

  3. In the Security dashboard, click Smart Firewall.

  4. Click the Settings tab, next to Traffic Rules, click Manage.

  5. Click the Connection rules tab that lists all your current connection rules.

    • Select the relevant connection, click the Edit icon (the pencil icon) in the panel for the relevant rule. Edit the relevant parameters, then click Save to confirm.

  6. To create a new rule for a new connection, in the Connection rules tab, click New rule. Enter the relevant parameters, then click Create to confirm.
