Message: "Wi-Fi network is Compromised: Data you send and receive is exposed to third party on this network…"

When your device connects to any Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi Security feature scans the Wi-Fi network for vulnerabilities and alerts you if it is not safe.

Depending on the Wi-Fi network that your device is connected to, select one of the following:

I am unsure of the safety of the Wi-Fi network

If you are unsure of the safety of the Wi-Fi network, in the compromised network alert window, do one of the following:
  • If you already have VPN included in your Norton subscription, tap Turn On VPN.

  • If you do not have VPN included in your Norton subscription, tap Try VPN.

  • If you do not want to try VPN, tap Leave Network and connect to a different network.

I trust the Wi-Fi network that Norton incorrectly detects as compromised

If Norton repeatedly displays an alert about compromised Wi-Fi network that you think is incorrect, update the Norton app to the latest version from Google Play Store.
STEP 1

Update Norton

  1. From the Home screen, launch Play Store.

  2. Tap the search bar on top of the Play Store and then search Norton 360.

  3. Tap Norton 360 from the search results and then tap Update next to it.

  4. Wait until Norton finishes installing the update from Play Store.

If you already have the latest version of the Norton app, it displays Open.

STEP 2

Run Wi-Fi Security scan

  1. Launch Norton 360.

  2. Tap Wi-Fi Security.

Wait for the Wi-Fi Security check to finish.
