FAQ: Norton and macOS Big Sur (11.x)
As of November 12th, 2020, the new macOS Big Sur (11.x) is now available. All the Mac users with compatible hardware can upgrade the macOS to Big Sur (11.x) for free.
Before you upgrade to macOS Big Sur, run LiveUpdate and install all the available updates for your Norton product.
The following FAQ answers your queries related to your Norton products on macOS Big Sur.

Your Norton product works on macOS Big Sur as long as you have the latest version installed. Run LiveUpdate and install all the available updates for your Norton product before you upgrade to macOS Big Sur.
Following Norton products are compatible with macOS Big Sur:

Norton 360 (8.6.0 or later)
-
Norton Security (8.6.0 or later)
-
Norton AntiVirus (8.6.0 or later)
-
Norton Internet Security (8.6.0 or later)
Some of the existing Norton device security products are not compatible with macOS on ARM-based devices.
To update Norton to the latest version, do the following:

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click .

In the Norton main window, click .
Wait for the LiveUpdate to download install all the available updates.

When all the updates are complete, you are prompted to restart. Click .

After you restart your Mac, in the Norton alert window, click .

In the Norton Update window, click .

In the Norton installation window, click to allow Network Monitoring, and then click .

To allow Full Disk Access, click to open the Security & Privacy settings.

In the Security & Privacy window, ensure that is enabled. Navigate back to the Norton installation window and click .
