FAQ: Norton and macOS Big Sur (11.x)

Your Norton product works on macOS Big Sur as long as you have the latest version installed. Run LiveUpdate and install all the available updates for your Norton product before you upgrade to macOS Big Sur.

Following Norton products are compatible with macOS Big Sur:

• Norton 360 (8.6.0 or later)

• Norton Security (8.6.0 or later)

• Norton AntiVirus (8.6.0 or later)

• Norton Internet Security (8.6.0 or later)

Our latest Norton device security products are compatible with macOS on Apple Silicon M1 (ARM) devices using the Rosetta 2 translation feature.

If you see an incompatible software message after you upgrade to macOS Big Sur, uninstall and reinstall Norton. For more information, read: Message: "Incompatible Software: This version of Norton product is not compatible with this version of macOS"
