Norton annual and monthly subscription refunds

This article describes the refund policies for Norton annual and monthly subscriptions.

Most Norton services are offered as automatically renewing subscriptions. Automatic renewal ensures continuous access to the service without expiration concerns.

For more information about automatic renewal subscriptions, read Learn more about your automatically renewing subscription.

Annual subscriptions

Norton annual subscriptions include a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Under this guarantee, you can receive a full refund for the purchase of a Norton annual subscription if you request it within 60 days of the purchase date.

Each annual renewal payment also qualifies for a full refund if requested within 60 days of being charged.

For an annual paid subscription following a free trial, you can request a full refund within 60 days of being charged.

Subsequent annual renewal payments also qualify for a full refund if requested within 60 days of being charged.

Monthly subscriptions

If you have a monthly subscription, you can cancel your contract and request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.

Subsequent monthly renewals do not qualify for a refund.

For a monthly paid subscription following a free trial, you can request a full refund within 14 days of being charged. Subsequent monthly renewals do not qualify for a refund.

To learn more about contract cancellation and refund rights, and for exceptions, read the full NortonLifeLock Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Refund instructions vary depending on where you purchased the plan. Choose the appropriate option based on the purchase location.

Purchased from Norton Online Store

Purchased from a retail store

To obtain a refund for a Norton subscription purchased from a retail store, contact Norton here.

When contacting Norton Member Services & Support, have the following information ready:

  • A photocopy or print of the Subscription Key label used to activate the subscription. This validates the purchase and prevents subscription use after the refund.
  • For most subscriptions, this is a 25-character key found on a card in the packaging or printed on the receipt.
  • A photocopy or print of the original receipt showing the purchase date and price paid for the subscription.

Important Notice: According to the License and Services agreement, after you receive a refund, the software may automatically deactivate and become non-operational to prevent further use. You must delete all copies of the software for the refunded subscription.

Purchased through partners, such as internet service providers and telecom companies

Norton cannot issue refunds for subscriptions billed through partners. Contact the company that bills you for the Norton subscription for assistance.

In-app purchase from Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store

If you subscribed to a Norton plan through an in-app purchase, you can only cancel or change your subscription settings from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store.

For detailed instructions, read Cancel the Norton plan in-app purchase from Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store.
