Update your programs with Norton Software Updater

1. Open your Norton device security product.
2. In the My Norton window, next to Software Updater, click Scan.
3. In the Software Updater window, wait for the scan to complete.
   If an earlier scan result is shown, click Rescan.
4. In the Programs Requiring Attention tab, select the programs that you want to update.
5. Click Update.

   Tip: You need not wait for Software Updater to complete the scan or update process. You can click the home icon on the left pane or minimize the window, and continue with your other tasks.

6. Based on the scan results, review the states and take appropriate action.
7. If you do not want to update a specific program, select the program and click Exclude.
8. On the Other Programs tab, review the programs that got updated to the latest version.
9. Click Finish.

With the Auto-Update option turned on, Software Updater runs in the background once in every 7 days and checks if the latest version is available for any of your installed programs. If an update is available for a specific program, the program is automatically updated to the latest version.

1. Open your Norton device security product.
2. In the My Norton window, in the center pane, click the settings icon > Software Updater.
3. In the Software Updater settings window, turn on or turn off the Auto-Update switch.
4. To include all programs in the scan, turn on Include programs not supported by Auto-Update.
   Important: When you turn on this option, programs that require manual update too are included in the scan. You may have to manually update these programs to the latest version.

By default, programs that are not supported by Auto-Update are not included in the Software Updater scan. If you have turned on the Include programs not supported by Auto-Update option, you have to turn it off.

1. Open your Norton device security product.
2. In the My Norton window, in the center pane, click the settings icon > Software Updater.
3. In the Software Updater settings window, turn off Include programs not supported by Auto-Update.
   Programs that require manual update are not included in the next scan.

The following states appear if you have turned on the Include programs not supported by Auto-Update option in the Software Updater settings window:

If the program that you want to add or remove from the exclusion list has a pending user action (for example, a restart is required), the program gets added or removed from the exclusion list only from the next scan.

1. Open your Norton device security product.
2. In the My Norton window, in the center pane, click the settings icon > Software Updater > Excluded Programs.
3. In the Excluded Programs window, click Add.
4. Select the program that you want to exclude and click Add.
   Software Updater no longer checks the program for new updates.

   You can also use the Exclude option in the Software Updater window to exclude a program. If you want Software Updater to scan an excluded program, select the program in the Excluded Programs window and click the delete (X) icon. Software Updater starts checking for new updates for the specific program from the next scan.

If you do not want your Norton product to scan for outdated programs, you can turn off the Software Updater feature. However, you can turn it on at any time.

1. Open your Norton device security product.
2. In the My Norton window, in the center pane, click the settings icon > Software Updater.
3. In the Software Updater settings window, slide the switch next to Software Updater to off.
