Set up Ransomware Recovery in Norton Mobile Security

Ransomware is a type of malware that locks you out of your important files or your device and blackmails you for a ransom to avoid misuse or deletion of data. Your data is encrypted and you can't retrieve it unless a ransom is paid. There is no guarantee that you will regain access when you pay the ransom.

Ransomware Recovery feature in Norton Mobile Security scans and lets you remove ransomware attacks from your device.

Ransomware Recovery feature is available for Android devices only. For Android 7.x or later, the Ransomware Recovery feature is enabled by default.

  1. From the Home screen, launch Norton Mobile Security app.

  2. In the top-left corner, tap the menu icon, and then tap App Settings.
