Learn more about Antivirus settings

The Antivirus settings help protect your computer against the security risks that can compromise your personal information and privacy.

You can customize the following Antivirus settings:

  • Real-Time Protection

Real-Time Protection controls the scanning and monitoring of your computer. The options provide constant protection for your computer by checking for viruses and other security risks.

For more information, see Learn more about Real Time Protection.

  • Email Protection

Email Protection helps protect your email program against viruses and other security threats. You can define how Norton should behave when it scans email messages.

For more information, see Learn more about Email Protection.

  • Script Control

Script Control helps protect you from malware that you download or receive as attachments in phishing emails. With Script Control, your Norton product blocks attachments with unsafe scripts from being downloaded.

For more information, see Learn more about Script Control.

  • Exclusions

You can configure your Norton product to exclude certain files and folders from virus scans. When you add a file or folder to the Exclusions list, your Norton product ignores the file or folder when it scans for security risks.

For more information, see Exclude files and folders from Norton scans.
