Device limits and subscription FAQs for your Norton plan

This article explains how many devices you can protect with your Norton subscription and where to find your current device entitlement.

Most Norton plans allow you to install protection on 3, 5, or 10 devices, depending on the plan you subscribed to. You can install Norton on Windows PCs, Macs, smartphones, and tablets, up to the device limit included in your subscription.

  • If you are subscribing to a new Norton plan and want to know the device limit, visit the Norton Online Store.
  • If you have already subscribed and installed Norton, you can find your subscription details in your Norton account under My Subscriptions.
  • If you already have a Norton subscription and add another subscription, see the FAQ below for your options.

For China, Japan, and Korea: Norton account is not created during purchase. Once your product is installed, you can create an account from my.Norton.com. For detailed instructions, read Create a Norton account.

FAQs

Can I merge or extend a new Norton license with my existing subscription?

No. When you buy a new Norton license and redeem the product key, it usually starts a separate subscription. It does not automatically merge or extend any existing plan.

Can I merge two Norton licenses into one subscription?

Two separate Norton subscriptions do not automatically merge into a single subscription.

What are my options if I already have a subscription and buy a new license?

  • Option 1: Use the new license on the same Norton account.
    • Redeem the new product key using the same Norton account you already use. You will see two plans in My Subscriptions (for example, one for your current plan and one for the new license). This option is especially useful if you purchased the new product to cover additional devices, since your old license may already be fully used on a different set of active devices.
  • Option 2: Replace an existing subscription with the new one.
    • Let your old subscription expire or turn off auto-renewal on the old plan. When you’re ready, install or activate Norton using the new product key instead of renewing the old subscription. This works well when the product is purchased from a retail store, since the license remains non-activated until it is registered in your Norton account. However, if the product is purchased online from the Norton store, the license activates on the purchase date, meaning the subscription term begins immediately.
  • Option 3: If you want to combine, align, or make changes to your subscriptions, contact Norton Support.
