Importing and exporting passwords in Norton Private Browser
Norton Private Browser allows you to export your passwords to an CSV file and then import them into other web browsers.
Alternatively, if you want to import passwords from another web browser, first export your passwords from that browser to a CSV file, then import the CSV file into Norton Private Browser.
Export passwords from Norton Private Browser
To export your passwords to a CSV file:
- Open Norton Private Browser and go to ⋮ Menu (the three dots) ▸ Settings.
- In the left panel, select Autofill and passwords, then select Password Manager.
- In the top-left corner, select Settings.
- Next to Export passwords, click Download file.
If prompted, enter the password that you use when you start your device.
- Choose a familiar location to save the Norton Private Browser Passwords.csv file (for example, your desktop) and click Save.
Your passwords are now exported to a CSV file and are ready for importing to your other browsers.
Import passwords from another web browser
Before following the steps below, you need to export your passwords from the original web browser to an HTML file. For instructions, refer to your web browser's support pages.
To import passwords from another web browser to Norton Private Browser:
- Open Norton Private Browser and go to ⋮ Menu (the three dots) ▸ Settings.
- In the left panel, select Autofill and passwords, then select Password Manager.
- In the top-left corner, select Settings.
- Next to Import passwords, click Select file.
- Locate the CSV file on your device, then click Open.
- When the import is complete, click View Passwords. Optionally, choose to delete the CSV file.
Your imported browser data is now available in Norton Private Browser.
