Message: "We're unable to communicate with your AntiTrack app" appears on Norton AntiTrack extension

This problem can occur if Norton AntiTrack browser extension fails to establish a connection with the Norton AntiTrack app.

To fix this problem, uninstall and reinstall the Norton AntiTrack browser extension. Depending on the browser, choose one of the following:

Google Chrome

  1. Launch Google Chrome.

  2. On the top-right corner of the browser, click Customize and control Google Chrome and then click More Tools > Extensions.
  3. In the Extensions page, under Norton AntiTrack, click Remove.

    In the confirmation screen, click Remove.

  4. Reinstall the extension from the Norton AntiTrack app.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge.

  2. On the top-right corner of the browser, click Settings and More and click Extensions.
  3. In the Extensions page, under Norton AntiTrack, click Remove.

    In the confirmation screen, click Remove.

  4. Reinstall the extension from the Norton AntiTrack app.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Launch Mozilla Firefox.

  2. On the top-right corner of the browser, click Open Menu and then click Add-ons.
  3. In the Manage your Extensions page, next to Norton AntiTrack, click and click Remove.

    In the confirmation screen, click Remove.

  4. Reinstall the browser extension from the Norton AntiTrack app.

Safari

  1. Launch Safari.

  2. Click Safari on the top-left corner of the screen and click Preferences.

  3. In the General window that appears, click the Extensions tab.

  4. From the list of apps, click Norton AntiTrack.

  5. Under Norton AntiTrack, click Uninstall.

    When you receive a prompt, click Show in Finder.

  6. In the Applications window that appears, right-click Norton AntiTrack and click Move to Bin.

If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the Norton AntiTrack app from your computer. Depending on your operating system, select one of the following:

Windows

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in the following text, and then press Enter:

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton AntiTrack, and then click Uninstall or Change.

  4. Click Yes to confirm.

  5. When the uninstall finishes, exit all programs and restart the computer.

  6. Reinstall Norton AntiTrack.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.

Mac

STEP 1

Restart Mac

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart Mac.

Uninstall Norton AntiTrack

  1. On the desktop, right-click the Norton AntiTrack icon on your menu bar and click Quit.

  2. Click the desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock to be in the Finder.

  3. In the left pane, click Applications.

  4. From the list of applications, select the Norton AntiTrack icon, and then drag and drop it to Trash.

Reinstall Norton AntiTrack
