Norton Secure VPN stays at "Connecting" and returned to disconnected state

Norton Secure VPN/Secure VPN is no longer available for use within India as a result of governmental regulations requiring the logging and saving of user data, but you can still use your product/subscription when traveling outside of India.

Our Customer support would deliver the same message and cannot help/troubleshoot this experience if you reach our support.

This problem occurs if Norton Secure VPN fails to establish a connection to the VPN server. It can be caused due to some temporary problems with your network connection. Ensure that your device is connected to a stable Internet connection.

To fix this problem on your Mac, update your macOS to 10.14.x or later version. For detailed steps on updating your macOS to the latest version, refer to the Apple Support article. If the problem persists, check for network problems, and then restart Norton Secure VPN.

Check for network problems

If you were able to connect to Norton Secure VPN before on the same network, wait for some time and try connecting to Norton Secure VPN again.

Some networks do not allow VPN connections and restrict VPN access using network or firewall settings. If this error appears when you connect to Secure VPN for the first time, it could be due to the network or firewall settings.

If you repeatedly see this error message, connect to a different network, or connect to the mobile data connection on your device.

If the problem persists, connect to the "Auto-Select" region or different VPN regions.
