Configure Norton Smart Firewall to trust a network connected to your Mac

Your Norton product helps you view and manage your network. Your Norton product automatically detects the network that your Mac uses to connect to the Internet and lists them in the Private networks window. You can trust the network connection.

If you think the detected network connection is safe, add it to the trusted network list.

Configure Smart Firewall to trust a network connection

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. On the left pane, click Security.

  3. In the Security dashboard, click Smart Firewall.

  4. Click the Settings tab, next to Private networks, and click Manage.

  5. Next to the detected network connection, click Add to Private. The network connection is added to the Private networks list.

  6. If you want to remove a connection added to the Private networks list, hover your cursor over the relevant network and then click Remove (the remove icon).

  7. Click Close.
