Message: "Incompatible operating system" appears while installing Norton product on Mac

• Supported operating systems: Mac OS 10.13 or later

To resolve this issue, we recommend using the Safari web browser to download and install your Norton security

1. Open the Safari web browser.

2. Sign in to your account.

3. Type in your email address and password for Norton, and click Sign In.

4. In the dashboard, go to My Subscriptions. In the My Subscriptions tab, select the Norton product with an active subscription and click Download.

5. In the Get Started page, click Agree and Download.

6. When the download finishes, double-click the file that you downloaded to launch the Norton installer.

7. Click Agree & Install.

8. In some cases, Norton provides you an alert to join the Norton Community Watch that collects information about potential security risks from your computer and sends the information to Norton for analysis. Do any one of the following:

   • Click Join Now to enable the Norton Community Watch on your Norton product.

   • Click Maybe Later to join the Norton Community Watch later.

9. When prompted, type your Mac administrator user account password and click Install Helper.

10. In the Norton installation window, click Open Now or Click here.

11. Click Allow corresponding to the Norton message.

12. In the Norton installation window, click Continue.

After installation is complete, your Norton Device Security subscription is automatically activated.

To resolve this issue, we recommend using the Safari web browser to download and install your Norton Utilities Ultimate

1. Open the Safari web browser.

2. Sign in to your account.

3. Hover the mouse pointer over your name at the top-right corner and click My Subscriptions.

4. In the My Subscription page, under Norton Utilities Ultimate, click Download.

5. In the Get Started window, click the License and Services Agreement link and read the agreement.

6. Click Agree and Download and wait for the download to complete.

7. When the download finishes, double-click the file that you downloaded to launch the Norton Utilities Ultimate installer.

8. If you see an alert, click Allow.

9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

After installation is complete, your Norton Utilities Ultimate subscription is automatically activated.
