View and respond to Wi-Fi Security alerts in Norton Mobile Security

I have an Android device

Wi-Fi Security feature in Norton Mobile Security scans the wireless network that your device is connected to, and performs the following security checks:
  • SSL Stripping

  • SSL Decryption

  • ARP Spoofing

Based on the security check results, it provides you the recommendations on how to fix the problems that are identified.
Wi-Fi Security automatically performs a security check every time your device connects to a Wi-Fi network. You can also initiate it manually.

Check your Wi-Fi network security

  1. From the Home screen, launch Norton Mobile Security.

  2. At the bottom of the main screen, tap the Online icon.
  3. On the Online screen, tap Wi-Fi Security.

Wait for the Wi-Fi Security check to finish.

  4. If Wi-Fi Security identifies any security risks with the wireless network, read the on-screen recommendations and steps to fix it.

I have an iOS device

  • SSL Stripping

  • SSL MiTM

  • Content Manipulation

  • Suspicious Network Hardware

  • Hotspot Reputation

Wi-Fi Security automatically performs a security check every time you connect to a Wi-Fi network and recommends solutions to problems it identifies.

If you have subscribed to Norton 360 plans that include Norton Secure VPN, Norton Mobile Security automatically enables the VPN configuration and alerts you if you are connected to a compromised network. To receive an alert, you need to first set up the Secure VPN configuration on your device. For more information read, Set up VPN in Norton Mobile Security for iOS

View and respond to Wi-Fi Security alerts

  1. From the Home screen, launch Norton Mobile Security app.

  2. Tap Wi-Fi Security, and wait for the Wi-Fi Security check to finish.

  3. If Wi-Fi Security identifies any security risks with the wireless network, Norton Mobile Security automatically enables the VPN configuration if you have already enabled the VPN on your device. If you have not set up or disabled the Auto-Connect VPN option on your device then Norton notifies you with an alert. Do one of the following in the alert:

    • Tap Turn on Auto-Connect VPN to automatically turn on the VPN configuration for the compromised network connection.

    • Tap Leave Network and read the on-screen recommendations and steps to fix it.

You can see the alert only if you have a Norton 360 that includes Norton Secure VPN.
