Fix problem when Norton AntiTrack prompts to add extension even when browser extension is added

Norton AntiTrack may prompt you to add a browser extension even when it is added on your browser. To fix this issue, follow the steps:

STEP 1

Restart the computer

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart the computer.

Update your browser

You may need to update your browser or install the supported browsers.

STEP 3

Remove the Norton AntiTrack extension

Depending on your browser, select one of the following:

Norton AntiTrack does not support multiple profiles simultaneously on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. If you see that your browser is not protected even though the extension is enabled, we suggest you to revert to your original user account or the user profile where the Norton AntiTrack extension was originally installed and enabled.

Microsoft Edge

  • Open Microsoft Edge.

  • On the top-right corner of the browser, click Extensions.

  • Click Manage Extensions.

  • In the Extensions window, under Norton AntiTrack, click Remove to remove the extension.

Google Chrome

  • Open Google Chrome.

  • On the top-right corner of the browser, click Extensions.

  • In the Extensions window, click Manage Extensions.

  • Under Norton AntiTrack, click Remove to remove the extension.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Open Mozilla Firefox.

  • On the top-right corner of the browser, click Open Applications Menu and click Add-ons and Themes.

  • In the Manage your Extensions page, under Norton AntiTrack, click Sample alt text and click Remove to remove the extension.

STEP 4

Reinstall the Norton AntiTrack extension

  1. Open Norton AntiTrack.

  2. On the Norton AntiTrack window, click Manage Browsers.

  3. On the Manage Browsers window, next to the browser in which you need to reinstall the extension, click Add Extension.

  4. Depending on your browser, choose one of the following to add your extension:

    • For Microsoft Edge: On the Edge Add-ons page, next to Norton AntiTrack, click Get.

    • For Google Chrome: On the Chrome Web Store page, next to Norton AntiTrack, click Add to Chrome.

    • For Mozilla Firefox: On the Firefox browser Add-ons, next to Norton AntiTrack, click Add to Firefox.

  5. In the confirmation screen, click Add or Add Extension to install the Norton AntiTrack extension.
