Remove Norton ConnectSafe settings

On November 15, 2018, Norton ConnectSafe service was retired meaning that the free service will no longer be available. Because the service is discontinued, current users could experience disruption(s) in their browsing experience.

If you are a current Norton ConnectSafe user, we recommend that you complete the following actions before the ConnectSafe service termination. You can configure the network adapter settings and remove the Norton ConnectSafe DNS server addresses.

Depending on your operating system, follow the steps in one of the following sections:

I have a Windows PC

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    ncpa.cpl
  3. Right-click the network adapter that is currently active, and then click Properties.

If the User Account Control prompt appears, click Yes or Continue.

  4. On the Networking tab, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

  5. Click Properties.

  6. To remove Norton ConnectSafe server address settings, click Obtain DNS server address automatically or use the default DNS settings that are provided by your Internet service provider.

If the option Obtain DNS server address automatically is already selected, then Norton ConnectSafe is no longer set as your DNS server and no changes are needed.

  7. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click OK, and then click Close.

I have a Mac

  1. From the Apple menu, click System Preferences, then click Network.

  2. In the bottom-left corner, if the lock icon status shows locked status, click it to unlock. Type your administrator password and press return.

  3. Select the network connection that you want to configure to use Norton ConnectSafe, and then click Advanced.

  4. On the DNS tab, remove the two Norton ConnectSafe IP addresses that you added for the content filtering policy.

To remove the address, select the Norton ConnectSafe IP address and click the minus (-) sign.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Apply.

I have a router

  1. Start the web browser.

  2. In the Address bar, type the IP address of your router, and then press Enter.

Generally, 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 are the most widely used default IP addresses by various manufacturers. If your router manufacturer uses a different IP address, refer to the help documentation for the router.

  3. Type the administrator user name and password and then click OK.

Router configuration settings page opens in your web browser.

  4. Find and open the DNS settings.

You may find the DNS settings option under WAN settings.

  5. Remove Norton ConnectSafe server address settings, and/or use the default DNS settings that is provided by your Internet service provider, and save your changes.

On many routers there is a 'Get automatically' setting that will populate DNS settings from your ISP.

Es war einfach, mein Problem zu beheben.
