Logging in to and logging out of Identity Safe

Norton Identity Safe prompts you to log in to your Vault at the beginning of each Windows user session. You can enable Norton Identity Safe to automatically log out of your Vault after the specified idle time. You need to re-enter your Vault password to continue using Norton Identity Safe.

To secure your Identity Safe data, log out of Vault whenever you are away from your device. To enable automatic log out of Vault, on the main window, click Settings > Security > select Close Vault after time minutes of inactivity. To enable automatic log out on Android and iOS, tap App button > Settings > Vault > Auto-lock > choose the auto-lock interval.

To completely log out of Norton Identity Safe, on the Norton Identity Safe main window, click your email address, and then click Sign out of Norton account.

To log out of your Vault in Android or iOS, tap App button, and then tap Close Vault. To completely log out of Norton Identity Safe, tap Sign Out on the app main window. You can also log out of Identity Safe by tapping App button > Settings > Account > Sign Out.

To view or edit your confidential data, you must be logged in to Identity Safe.

To log in to your Cloud Vault from the Norton toolbar

  1. Start your browser.

  2. On the Norton toolbar, click VAULT IS CLOSED option.

  3. If prompted, in the Sign in or create account window, use your Norton account email address and password to log in to Identity Safe.

  4. In the Vault Closed window, type the password of your Cloud Vault.

  5. Click Open.

To log out of your Cloud Vault from the Norton toolbar

  1. Start your browser

  2. On the Norton toolbar, click VAULT IS OPEN, and then move the slider switch available at the bottom of the window to the right.

    You can also close your vault using the slider switch available on the Norton Identity Safe main window.
